Lapping and Polishing

PMI offers single sided lapping of materials up to 8″ x 8″ or 10″ diameter and double sided lapping of materials up to 12″ x 12″ or 16″ diameter. In addition to our lapping services, we offer a host of grinding capabilities that can be coupled with our lapping process to provide an economical alternative.

PMI regularly processes a variety of materials including but not limited to Alumina (Al₂O₃), Beryllia (BeO), Aluminum Nitride (AlN), Silicon Nitride (SiN), Stainless Steel, Metals, Ferrite, plastic, Quartz, Fused Silica and many other materials used in industrial and scientific applications.

PM Industries has been an industry leader in polishing a wide variety of material to precise surface finishes for over 20 years. PMI has the expertise to polish extremely thin and large area parts to a Hyperfine surface finish.

We offer single and double sided polishing in a variety of surface finishes to meet your specific requirements. With our in-house tooling capabilities, custom shapes are quick and easily processed. We can handle up to 9″squares and 12″ rounds.

We have many of the popular sizes of polished 99.5% and 99.6% Alumina on the shelf, available for immediate shipment.
